On July 12, 2008 the Boguniecki family lost one of its members. Bo, our family dog since 1992, died of natural causes. He was 16 years old and had many health issues that finally caught up with him. Burying Bo was one of the hardest things for me to do. I was devastated that day and still become lost in my thoughts before I snap myself back to reality.
I remember back in the early nineties seeing Bo at the mall - my brother and I were immediately drawn to him. He sat in his cage with his fluffy black hair, huge ears and head tilted to the side - we had to have him. Back then there was a $300 limit on ATM's. I couldn't get the $320 we needed to buy him. I happened to see a friend of mine, Robin C. who gave me the $20 so we could get him. I ran into her some years later at a bar and walked over to her table and gave her a twenty dollar bill. We had a drink and a few laughs - it was cool. Bo was a Lhasa-Poo. If you attended any of the University Of New Hampshire hockey games in the mid-nineties you would have met Bo. He traveled with my parents to UNH every weekend to see the games. He loved people and there were plenty of fans there to meet.
I don't know how, but he never needed to be house broken, taught how to sit, or scolded for anything. He was just so smart and learned on his own. I can't explain how he was able to know what he was supposed to do without us training him - he really was such a great dog to have. I remember what my father said as we were burying Bo, "God doesn't know how lucky he is today - he is getting the best dog ever." I couldn't agree more - Bo was truly a friend that can't be replaced.
Here is a small tribute to Bo - enjoy the many faces he had over the years........I miss you Bo. Bill
